The Rotary Club of Werribee is proud to report that their international project to build a new bore-water system at the Sir Tito Winyi Secondary School in the village of Masindi in Northern Uganda has been completed.
Clean water is now officially flowing through the taps signalling the completion of all major works of the project. Students, teachers and community members now have the opportunity to experience and taste the clean water at the school.
The new system will supply 400 students and 1600 villagers with clean water. For many years, senior school children walked several kilometres each day to fill 20-litre containers with dirty water for consumption during the day.
Funds for the project were raised by donations from 10 supporting Rotary clubs, generous personal donations and matching grants from District 9800 funds and a Rotary International Global Grant.
